Jennifer started her journey in Physical Therapy. After injuring herself and discovering first-hand the effectiveness of acupuncture she began to pursue a path toward acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Jennifer graduated from the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2005 and began working and mentoring under Dr. Ma, a 27th generation Chinese Doctor. From Dr. Ma Jennifer learned Mandarin and a lifetime of knowledge. Dr. Ma continues as Jennifer’s mentor to this day, and in her spare time she continues to work in his herbal shop. Early in her career Jennifer practiced in a sports clinic focusing on the treatment of professional athletes and Olympians and gained a wealth of experience and knowledge treating sports injuries and pain conditions. Jennifer found that although she was treating athletes to help them reach their best, many of the conditions hindering their performance and leading to injury were underpinned by hormone imbalances. Through her focused work with many female athletes, Jennifer found her calling treating woman’s health and hormone issues.
Jennifer has taken many specialized courses in gynaecology, infertility, obstetrics (acupuncture for pregnancy) and paediatrics. She specializes in and enjoys teaching young women about menstrual issues and how to prevent problems in the future with infertility, fibroids and endometriosis. A large portion of her practice is focused on menstrual problems, infertility issues, pregnancy and postpartum issues and menopause.
Jennifer volunteers with Acupuncture Without Borders, and loves giving educational talks and seminars, exploring the mountains, hiking, soccer, running and swimming. Jennifer is happy to be giving back to Calgary as a community and looks forward to helping you live a stronger life.
